Binky The Space Cat is a graphic novel series featuring an adorable, curious, and very funny black and white feline named Binky. Although this graphic novel series is targeted towards children, we think that it is great for readers of all ages – especially cat lovers.
As the title of the series suggests, despite appearing to be an average house-cat, Binky is (or at least believes that he is) a space cat. This is shown in the first issue of the series simply titled Binky The Space Cat. In this first issue, Binky is determined to explore the unknown, and he spends a lot of his time secretly training for his adventures into the unknown (aka. the backyard) with his co-pilot Ted (his stuffed mouse). As you can imagine, Binky’s active imagination and his training techniques bring a lot of laughs.
Not only do we love the Binky The Space Cat series because of the great artwork and story-line that the author presents, but we also love the series because the author, Ashley Spires, is a local here in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. We love to support local products, especially when they feature our feline friends, so we were ecstatic when we found out that this great series was the product of someone right here in Saskatoon.
