Today’s famous feline is Thomas O’Malley, the suave Tom Cat from one of our favourite Disney films The Aristocats (though what cat lover doesn’t adore this film?).
Thomas O’Malley is a smooth talking street cat who finds his way into the lives of 4 aristocratic felines, Duchess and her 3 little kittens, Marie, Berlioz, and Toulouse. O’Malley is the complete opposite of these high-class felines, with his care-free attitude and his street smart personality. Although he is much different than the aristocratic cat family, he quickly gains their trust and eventually their love. See Thomas O’Malley’s first appearance in the film HERE.
We won’t give away too much of the movie plot for those who are yet to see the film, so we’ll just say that we love Thomas O’Malley because he not only creates a positive image of street cats, but he is also able to break the barriers between social classes and personal appearances, showing that it’s what’s inside that really counts.
Did you know that Thomas O’Malley has been featured in other Disney programs besides The Aristocats movie? He was also a recurring character in the 2000-2003 television program House of Mouse.
