Cats have become popular characters in movies, television, and cartoon strips. With their memorable personalities, their cute appearances, and their entertaining adventures, the following cartoon cats are our top 10 favourite cartoon felines (listed in alphabetical order). 1. “Cheshire Cat” from Alice in Wonderland
Although he’s not one of the good guys in the movie Alice in Wonderland, the Cheshire cat is nonetheless a memorable character thanks to his smile and his mysterious personality and his love of tricks in the movie.

2. “Felix the Cat
This famous black feline was one of the first cartoon cats ever. His silent filmstrips and his comic strips have led him to be one of the most recognizable black cats in the world. He is mischievous, smart, and has been entertaining the world for decades.

3. “Figaro” from the movie Pinocchio
He may not play a prominent role in Disney’s Pinocchio movie, but his adorable oh so kitten-like personality gives Figaro the cat a spot on our top 10 favourite cartoon cats list.

4. “Garfield
This orange tabby cat summarizes the life of a housecat to a “t”. Garfield’s day revolves around sleeping, eating, and causing mischief around the house. His personality and his legacy are what makes Garfield such a perfect cartoon cat.

5. “Hello Kitty 
Hello Kitty has become a worldwide sensation. She’s become so popular that her face has begun to appear on everything from pencils to automobiles. This feline is so cute and girly that she definitely deserves to be one of the top 10 cartoon cats.

6.Hobbes” from Calvin and Hobbes
He may just be Calvin’s toy tiger in the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes but this wise feline is an integral part of Calvin’s life. Hobbes proves that he is certainly a real feline with his love of pouncing, and his great love of tuna.

7. “Puss in Boots” from the Shrek Movies
Puss in Boots first made an appearance in the second Shrek movie. He quickly became one of the most loved characters in the movie thanks to his quick wit, his musketeer outfit, and his adorable eyes. His popularity has grown since this movie, and he has even been featured in his own movie Puss in Boots in 2011.

8. “Simon’s Cat
This nameless feline began as a YouTube cartoon video, and is now the star of many published books. He is the epitome of a needy housecat, always begging for attention from his owner and asking for food at all times. We love him because we can see personality traits from all of our cats in every video and comic strip featuring him. From waking his owner up in the middle of the night and asking for food, to making a mess of the living room while the owner isn’t paying attention, Simon’s cat is a realistic cartoon kitty.

9. “Sylvester” from The Looney Tunes
This cat has nothing more on his mind than to catch the little yellow bird Tweety. His escapades are featured in endless episodes of the Looney Tunes making him one of the most popular characters in the series.

10. “Tom” from Tom and Jerry
This cartoon cat brings endless entertainment with his cat and mouse games with Jerry, as they continuously fight with each other, bother each other, and play pranks on each other. Tom is a funny, entertaining cartoon cat that we will never stop loving to watch.
